George Carlin

George Carlin at age 102: (Absolutely Brilliant)

IF YOU DON'T READ THIS TO THE VERY END, YOU HAVE LOST A DAY IN YOUR LIFE. AND WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED, DO AS I AM DOING AND SEND IT ON.

George Carlin's Views on Ageing Do you realise that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about ageing that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!'

You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five!

That's the key. You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. 'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life .... .. You become 21.

Even the words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!! But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40.

Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away..

Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would! So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30 ; you REACH bedtime.

And it doesn't end there Into the 90s, you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.' Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!' May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next country; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER : Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that
take our breath away.

Sports Fest!!!!!

Good day to all!!! On the weekend our Prayer Community had its annual Sports Fest. Thank god it wasn't as hot as it was last year.

Anyway, we played Relay games, girls and boys Basketball, Badminton, and mixed Volleyball. It was so much fun. Everyone enjoyed themselves. But like playing any sport one gets injured. We had people getting hit with the ball in the face and on the head; people falling over because of cramps (at their legs); and sometimes people get cut. I myself got injured during the Sports Fest. It wasn't anything major but it still hurts. I was playing Volleyball, I hit the ball but for some reason my hand hurt like hell after. It seemed that I hit the ball so hard that I bruised my palm.

You can see the difference between my two palms.
You can see the dicoloration and swelling of my right palm.
I've never had a bruise here before.
Wow!!! Its big!!!!

The Things We Take for Granted

April 29, 2009
The Wonderment of Life
Most of us begin our days with a continuous list of things we need to do to keep our lives running smoothly, but we rarely take time to note all the things we don’t need to do. For example, we don’t need to figure out how to breathe. We don’t need to find a way to make sure the earth continues to revolve around the sun. We don’t need to concentrate to ensure that our heart beats and our cells regenerate. All of these things, and many more, take care of themselves without our having to think or do anything at all. This is the miracle of life on earth.

Beyond the wonder of the natural world, we have the wonder of human-created conditions such as indoor plumbing, electricity, automobiles, airplanes, telephones, and the Internet to name a few. Someone living just a hundred years ago would be overwhelmed by the ease with which we can communicate with people all over the world. Every day, millions of us jump on airplanes and fly to distant locations in a matter of hours. If we have access to a computer, we can read obscure information about any subject, free of charge, at any time of the day or night. And yet, it’s only when one of these miraculous inventions fails that we notice it at all.

When you wake up tomorrow, take time to notice how many things are running smoothly, how many small miracles compose your day. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, as you put them on, take a moment to appreciate the fact that without them, you would be unable to see. Your life would be entirely different if someone hadn’t invented corrective lenses. As you take in your world, you might feel a moment of gratitude for the basic fact that, once again, the sun has risen to illuminate the abundant earth, and the earth’s gravitational field holds you and all that you hold dear in a tight, life-affirming embrace.

My friend sent this to me and I just had to share it with you all. This is sooo true.

Fitness First

Hey everyone! Guys what! I joined Fitness First yesterday. Can you believe it? I can't! At first I just wanted to see the place. You know to check it out and all. You see my brother works out there and he's looking really good. Though in one of his plurks he stated that he was getting fat! Well, when I joined I got a free Fitness First gym bag, towel, water bottle and headphones. I even got a bag full of San Miguel Coffee!!!!

Anyway, Fitness First is a gym and health club that started out in the UK in 1992. Since its beginning it was grown to be the largest gym, health and fitness club in the world! They work on not just helping you lose weight, they improving your desposition in life. They have fitness trainers that can help you get started and gives you good health advice. They open at 6am! The mall doesn't even open until 10am!

Their facilities range from general to fitness facilities. Both in class of its own. In the general facility they have cardio theater (you are provided with our very own headphones), vcd rentals, member and juice lounge, luxurious changing rooms, and steam rooms and sauna. In the fitness facility they have the cardio theater (also) and gym. Aside from these 2 facilities there is an additional...and that is the group exercises. In nearly all of the facilities, there is a small box that you can plug in you headphones to. You can either listen to music or watch tv on the monitors.

They offer so much in terms of exercise. But I really want to try out Tai Chi, Yoga, Body Jam and Body Combat.

I had my first session this morning. Wow! I took a bath in my own sweat. I have an assigned trainer but I came early and didn't get to see him so I was started out on cardio. I walked on the treadmill, did some steps and floated! All for 2 hours! Which is why my legs feel like lead. But that's okay. I'll get used to it. Hopefully I can do more than 2 hours a day. I really need to loose weight.
